This Innovate licence is located on the northern flanks of the prolific Witch Ground Graben hydrocarbon basin. As well as containing the Upper Jurassic ‘Brule’ oil discovery, a number of Upper Jurassic Piper Sandstone Formation prospects have been identified on the licence, with the primary focus being the large ‘Marshall’ prospect. The ‘Marshall’ prospect comprises a series of undrilled structural closures which may form a larger single structural-stratigraphic combination trap.
The work programme consists of obtaining new seismic data and undertaking a number of subsurface studies aimed at better delineating the prospective resource ranges and geological risks associated with these prospects. Once this work has been completed it is likely that the company will be seeking partners to join in the drilling of an exploration well to test the ‘Marshall’ prospect.
