This Traditional licence sits adjacent to the UK/Norwegian median line and in close proximity to the Norwegian Eirin field, which is currently under development. The main focus on the block is the large gas condensate ‘Boaz’ prospect which comprises a large untested Triassic fault bound structure. Well 16/8-10 penetrated the overlying stratigraphy hydrocarbon bearing, however the well never reached the underlying Triassic Skagerrak Formation interval.
The committed work programme comprises obtaining and reprocessing seismic data and undertaking additional geotechnical studies. Once this work has been completed it is likely that the company will be seeking partners to join in the drilling of an exploration well to test the ‘Boaz’ prospect.
